1. Click in the cell you want to split.
Next, Click on the ‘Layout’ tab, as seen in the diagram below.
2. Click on the ‘Split Cells’ button (the ‘Split Cells’ Dialog box will appear)
3. When the ‘Split Cells’ dialog box appears on your screen – Click in the boxes titled: Number of columns and Number of rows and typed the number of rows and columns you want your selected cell to be split into. We have changed our to: 2 columns and 2 rows. See the diagram below.
4. Word (as seen below) has made the changes we requested by splitting our selected cell into 2 columns and 2 rows.
