How to rotate text within a cell
1. Select the range whose text you want to rotate
2. Click the ‘Home’ tab
3. Click the Orientation command (see the diagram below)
4. A drop down list of options will appear – You can choose one of those options.
Below you will see 5 diagrams which show you how your selected text will look if you choose anyone of the first 5 Orientation options:
Orientation 1: Angle Counterclockwise
Orientation 2: Angle Clockwise
Orientation 3: Vertical Text
Orientation 4: Rotate Text Up
Orientation 5: Rotate Text Down
Orientation 6: Format Cell Alignment
If you choose the ‘Format Cell Alignment’ option
The Format Cell Dialog Box will appear on the screen
Just to the right of the Dialog Box you will see a Section called: Horizontal.
Under this section, you can click an Orientation marker to set the angle of your selected text. In the diagram below it is set at a 45 degree angle.
Or you can use the Degrees Spin Box to determine the angle of your text. You can either type it in or use the up or down arrow next to the words ‘Degree’ to set the angle of your selected text.
When you are done click the ‘OK’ button
Excel will make the changes to your selected text.
