Before we proceed to insert an Endnote, let us first lean what is the difference between Footnote and Endnote in Word.
Footnote and Endnotes are similar in purpose – They are used to reference additional information. However, the major difference between footnotes and endnotes is its placement in your document.
Footnotes are inserted at the end of a page, while Endnotes are inserted at the end of a section, chapter or document. And the Endnotes are in Roman Numerals e.g. i, ii, iii, iv…while Footnotes are inserted with whole numbers like: 1,2,3,4, etc.
