For this example we will be using numbers:
First, select the first cell and type the number of the series into the cell.
Then, click on the adjacent cell and type the next value or number in the series
Next, select the both cells, by left-clicking in the first cell of the series, then holding down the ‘Shift’ on your computer keyboard, select the second cell in the series.
Then carry your computer mouse to the bottom right-hand corner of the second cell you selected. When you do, the mouse pointer turns to a + sign.
When this happens, hold down the left button on your computer mouse and drag down to fill a vertical series or across to fill a horizontal series.
Excel will automatically complete the series for you.
